It was a busy weekend for Buctown Competitors!
Over the past two days, Buctown squad spread out into 5 different competitions; Quad-meet for the HS Varsity Wrestling Team, BCWCA Girls Wrestling Invitational (over 180 girls competed!), Spartan Kids Novice Tournament, Southern Regional Tournament, & Hammer Series Challenge for Jason Melendez's superfight.
Varsity wrestlers Diego Viera (Belleville Captain), Austin Yalowitz (Fort Lee Captain), Matias Lopez, Leo Tiankee, Fernando Collado, Lorenzo Tafuri (Belleville Captain), & Francecso Lombardo get some quality mat time during their quad meet at Montclair.

Buctown Girls battling it out at the BCWCA Girls Wrestling Invitational. Over 180 girls participated in this weekend's tournament. Resilience is the key word, as these girls had some hard fought duels and ended the day on a great note.
With Soraya Safforld taking the 3rd place spot on the podium, Illana Willams and Jasmine Yalowitz (4th) showed tremendous heart and improvement each match throughout the day, congratulations on a great tournament!

Next up, The Tiankee family heads out to the Southern Regional Tournament w/ BTS Team as a couple of Buctown Rec Kids enter the Spartan Novice Tournament.
Everyone wrestled great against some great competition. Congratulations to all the kids for wrestling their hearts out and taking home some medals!

Buctown Strong is a 501(c) Nonprofit Organization that provides classes through various forms of martial arts; Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, and Muay Thai/Boxing for youth students 18 & under. Buctown Strong Nonprofit is made possible by membership fees, fundraisers, events, clinics, and sales of Buctown merchandise. 100% of the proceeds are put towards our facility, expanding the capacity for kids to train free, entering and traveling to tournaments, in-house and out-house clinics, coaches and staff, equipment and gear, going to different gyms and clubs, and to help build the growing foundation of Buctown MMA.
